From our two locations in Hunt Valley and Jacksonville, we have served Northern Baltimore County for more than 30 years. We have cared for many of your neighbors and their families. Meet Our Therapists

John Shober
John is a 1977 graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and a 1980 graduate of the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy. He has served as an adjunct faculty at the school’s Physical Therapy Department. He earned a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy at Rocky Mountain University in Utah in 2005.

John’s specialty is Orthopedic Physical Therapy and is board certified in Electrophysiologic Physical Therapy.

He has served as a national delegate to the American Physical Therapy Association and served on the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 10 years. He is interested in active aging and is passionate about attaining independence in his patient population.

Cathleen Latoof-Shober
Cathy is a 1982 graduate of California State University at Fresno and is board certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. She has extensive continuing education training in a variety of topics including hand therapy, geriatric exercise, spinal care and post-surgical rehabilitation.
Benjamin Adams, PT, DPT
Ben graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2007 with a BS in Marketing. After working for 7 years in the financial industry, he enrolled at the University of Maryland, Baltimore where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017 and was named the Florence Kendall Outstanding Graduate for his class. Ben enjoys treating patients of all ages and finds creative and
effective ways to help patients reach their goals. As a marathon runner, Ben has a special
interest in treating runners and helping them maximize their performance. Ben also has experience helping patients with persistent concussion symptoms and was selected to present a case study poster on this topic at the Combined Sections Meeting conference in 2018. He is currently pursuing his Manual Therapy Certification and incorporates these skills into his therapy approach.
Lauren Goering
Lauren earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Elon University in 2012 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2015. Being an Equestrian herself, Lauren enjoys helping other Equestrians return to their passion after injuries such as musculoskeletal problems and balance impairments. Lauren also has special interest in treating patients with neurological diseases, particularly Parkinson’s disease and is an LVST BIG certified therapist.  She looks forward to incorporating aquatic and hippo-therapy into her treatment regime. Lauren’s clinical experience includes pediatrics, amputees, orthopedic and post surgical rehabilitation.
Rodger Henning
Rodger graduated from the University of Maryland twice in the 1970’s. Once from College Park in 1971 with a BS degree in Psychology and again from the University of Maryland School of Medicine with a BS degree in Physical Therapy. He immediately went into private practice and for the last 45 years has been treating patients in the Hunt Valley area.
During that time Rodger has gained significant experience with a broad range of clients as he used his clinical skills in long-term care facilities, schools and correctional institutions while continuing his primary office practice.
Rodger is considered by many as a master clinician with strong manual skills. He has studied manual therapy for over 40 years which has allowed him to hone these skills and master a variety of manual techniques. He routinely uses Cranio-Sacral techniques, Muscle Energy techniques, Strain Counterstrain, and other lesser known techniques to solve his patients complex problems of pain and loss of function.
He currently treats patients 3 days a week. His roles of husband, father, and grandfather of 5 keeps him busy when he is not in the clinic
Janine Ortt
Janine is a 1994 graduate of University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Department of Physical Therapy. She has strong interests and training in Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation, Women’s Health issues, and orthopedics.  Janine earned her transitional D.P.T. and manual therapy certification from E.I.M. in 2014.
